Audioquest Forest HDMI
1.5m

The HDMI Forest cable embodies all of AudioQuest's core philosophies regarding cable design. The Forest uses solid core conductors made of long grain copper, a solid high density polyethylene insulation and a precise signal geometry. Particular attention has been paid to optimizing HDMI performance, and indeed AudioQuest's HDMI cables are pushing acoustic results to unprecedented levels.

CONDUCTORS WITH MASSIVE CORE AT 0.5% MONEY: Solid core conductors eliminate distortion resulting from the interaction between strands and reduce jitter. Silver plated solid core conductors are ideal for high frequency applications such as HDMI audio and video. Indeed, high frequency signals propagate almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. As the surface is very pure silver, the result is very close to that of a solid silver cable, but at a price much closer to a solid copper cable. It’s an incredibly economical way to make very high quality HDMI cables.

EXPANDED POLYETHYLENE INSULATION: Any solid material in contact with a conductor contributes to forming an imperfect circuit. Cable sheath and printed circuit board materials all absorb energy (loss). Part of this energy is stored and then released as a distortion. The HDMI Forest cable has an insulating sheath made of air-expanded polyethylene on the two conductors because the air absorbs almost no energy and polyethylene is a low-loss material with an unaffected distortion profile. Thanks to all the air in the expanded PE, the cladding produces much less blurring than many other materials.

HIGH-THROUGHPUT DATA CAPACITY: HDMI standards and capabilities have improved significantly since the appearance of the first HDMI from DVI. All generations are backward compatible. However, not all previous HDMI cables are capable of transmitting data at the rate of 18 Gbit / s necessary for optimal use of today's HDMI 2.0 hardware. If there is currently no 4K / 60 4: 4: 4 software that requires the full 18 Gbps capacity of HDMI 2.0, some sources (UHD Blu-ray players) can be configured to "upsample" the signal ( upsampling). It is often best to oversample at the TV rather than an upstream component, but it's up to you. The most important thing to know and understand is that HDMI AudioQuest cables up to 8 meters are guaranteed to exceed the needs of all HDMI 2.0 / HDCP 2.2 data streams, including 4K UltraHD, HDR and Blu-ray Ultra HD. In addition, AudioQuest Forest makes use of Active Frequency-Equilization to enable full 18Gbps / 4K UltraHD performance from 10 to 15 meters.

ETHERNET AND ARC (AUDIO RETURN CHANNEL) COMPATIBILITY: All AudioQuest HDMI cables up to 8 meters are classified as broadband for Ethernet. From 12 meters to 20 meters, AudioQuest's HDMI cables are standard throughput for Ethernet.

DIRECTIONALITY: All audio cables are directional. The correct orientation is determined by listening to each batch of metal conductors used in each AudioQuest audio cable. The direction of the digital audio signal conductors is controlled in the AudioQuest HDMI cables and we even take care to lay the ARC (audio return channel) conductors in the opposite direction to ensure optimal performance of this function. Arrows are prominently displayed on the connectors to ensure optimal sound quality.

HDMI ACTIVE: Active frequency-equalization enables 18Gbps over long distances.
