Product Information

The Eris MTM E44 and E66 speakers respectively use a pair of h.p. customized 4.5 "and 6.5" Kevlar midrings as well as a midwoofer-tweeter-midwoofer (MTM, also known as D'Appolito) nested design for better off-axis playback. The result of this technology is a more coherent listening experience thanks to an extended but very precise frequency response and the largest stereo image available for this type of speaker.

How does this technology work?

In a conventional speaker design, both channels can cause interference from one to the other and the reproduction varies depending on where the listener is placed. Thanks to the MTM / D'Appolito configuration, the E44 and E66 MTM speakers overcome this problem by positioning a 1.25 "silk dome tweeter between two 4.5" or 6.5 "Kevlar the model) that cover the same frequency range. The two woofers then work in parallel to partially contain the dispersion of the tweeter, which reduces the phase shift. The result is an incredibly detailed, ultra-wide stereo image and a more coherent on-line and off-axis listening experience. In addition, the combined signal of the two small speakers propagates like a single waveform, behaving like a single and larger speaker. This coupling offers a sound volume similar to a larger h.p.

Horizontally or vertically

Many MTM configurations must be arranged vertically, rather than horizontally, as the vertical placement provides clear, non-interfering reproduction of the treble and midrange on either side. By bringing the midrange speakers closer together and enlarging the treble speaker, the E44 and E66 speakers are able to operate optimally in both directions.

Keep Control

The MTM monitoring speakers offer numerous acoustic adjustment controls. The three-position Acoustic Space switch compensates for the bass boost when the speakers are placed near a wall (0 dB, -2 dB and -4 dB). The controls of the midrange and treble contribute to further attenuate the anomalies of the piece. A low-cut filter is also available to easily integrate a Temblor subwoofer into your studio configuration.
