Product Information

2-channel gate limiter compressor
The integration of the compressor / gate dbx 266XS with stage or studio audio equipment provides easy access to professional sound. The compressor controls unwanted levels increases, increases the sustain of a guitar sound or magnifies those of a drum. It also allows the placement of a voice in the foreground of the mix for greater clarity.
The Overeasy® compression process and the AutoDynamic ™ automatic control (unique to dbx compressors) give the compression a soft and musical character without side effects. The 266XS can operate in stereo or dual mono mode and has RMS level detection.
• Balanced inputs and outputs on XLR
• New return time optimization circuits
• The OverEasy circuit allows significant compression without side effects
• Expander / gate adaptive to signal characteristics
• Separate Gain Reduction, Compression and Gating for fast and accurate settings
• The separate detector input controls compression by an external processor
• Stereo or dual mono operation
• Gate threshold adjustable over a range of 70 dB
