Yamaha RS-700

Back to basics for Yamaha. And in the 70s, with this amplifier built in the frankly retro design. A large volume potentiometer, flanked by a smaller input selection and rotating ... rectangular and vertical buttons. Even the speaker selector was located near the headphone output. Rest assured, the Yamaha R-S700 does not come with a disco ball. This integrated amplifier is well-known, with short circuits - Digital ToP-ART technology, for preserved signal integrity - and high-quality components (low impedance, low noise, high efficiency) cooled by an extruded aluminum sink . To control the possible vibration of the chassis, Yamaha inserted a center reinforcement bar into the Yamaha R-S700. The power delivered is 2 x 100 Watts under 8 Ohms, enough to produce a high level of sound even with low-sensitivity speakers, especially as the Yamaha R-S700 can deliver up to 160 Watts per channel In peak. Yamaha has therefore not skimped on the quality of the components. Power and power reserve are therefore clearly higher than the other models in the range (R-S300 and R-S500). Yamaha has also equipped the Yamaha R-S700 with a variable loudness function - adjustable by potentiometer - that enhances the bass and treble according to the tastes of the listener and whatever the level of listening. In addition, the Yamaha R-S700 features CD Direct mode, which increases the signal-to-noise ratio of the 7-dB CD input to 107 dB! Finally, the connectivity is very complete, with no less than 6 inputs (including a phono), 3 outputs including one for subwoofer, and a connector for optional iPod docks (wired or wireless). Two pairs of speakers can be connected to silver-plated terminals. And to ensure that the Yamaha R-S700 is not missing, there is an input and output for a preamplifier, either as a power amplifier or as a preamplifier. The Yamaha R-S700 is an excellent stereo amplifier that will surprise you with its musicality and realism.
